I am a BIG advocate for videos and video testimonials. I have over 300 posted on YouTube and I also help clients make and post their own videos posted online.
You’ve heard it before: content is king—that is true— but I am of the opinion that you can always get someone to write and tailor information favorable to you and post it on your website. But how many people do you know who are willing to be SEEN promoting YOU and your business? Attaching yourself to someone else says you fully endorse what they’re doing (or selling) and if what they’re doing is questionable, it could hurt your brand.
Video testimonials are extremely powerful tools when it comes to strengthening your brand. These types of videos can strengthen your credibility and your business and visitors to your website get to see others endorsing you.
Your video testimonials can be serious or fun but, most importantly, they should come across as genuine and not fake. Hiring someone to give you a testimonial doesn’t go over as well as getting comments from people who already know, like, and trust you.
Here’s an example of a fun, totally unrehearsed, video testimonial I created after inviting several members of my newsletter subscriber base to an exclusive music listening party with a local celebrity.

I love your video posts. You make it look easy. Looking forward to more.
Thank you Sylvia! Videos are much easier than you may have thought. It’s all about communicating. If you do it effectively face-to-face, you should have no problem with a camera.
