71-year-old Jack Daniel McCullough of Seattle made the headlines recently when he was arrested in connection with a 50-year-old murder. McCullough was charged with murdering a 7-year-old girl, who was abducted in 1957  while playing with a friend near her home in Sycamore, about 50 miles west of
Chicago, according to authorities.

I don’t think that’s the kind of news coverage he wanted to receive at his age but he was certainly the lead on the 6:00 news——

“If it bleeds, it leads”—That has always been a prevailing attitude in many newsrooms across the country.

Sadly, the only REAL media coverage people 50 years old and over seem to get these days is connected to celebrities who claim to defy aging, those who swear that 50 is the new 30, Wall Street tycoons who commit financial fraud or politicians who commit political suicide.

As a veteran journalist with more than 30 years of experience in the business, I have written a book that offers 8 KILLER Tips for a creating a Positive Media Image at Midlife.
