Little did I know four years ago that my Amazon Best Selling Book, Whatever! A Baby Boomer’s Journey Into Middle Age, would help me create a brand and lead me on the path to building a business.

Although I’ve always done speaking engagements related to my television news job, having a book added PAID speaking gigs—which turned out to be a blessing after I left my job. I went around the country encouraging women to enjoy their menopause and to embrace the second half of their journey.

Thus, the whole concept of baby boomer divas and Boomer Diva Nation was created.

My good friend Regina Baker has written an article about what a book can do for you and your business and I’d like to share part of it with you:

Did you know that one of the best ways that an entrepreneur can stand out from the competition is to write a book?

When you’re an author, you have a business card that lasts forever, sharing your message and wisdom with the world. In fact, a book is often your ticket to getting invitations for paid speaking engagements, media attention, information products, higher fees, and a steady stream of clients.

However, writing and marketing a book can be challenging, especially if you don’t know where to begin.  Aspiring authors can get bogged down and never finish their books, or, even worse, write a book that no one wants to buy.  Some people even get bored because they give up during the process.

The point is to never give up… it’s how you go through the process that determines the outcome!  And giving up, should NEVER be the answer…
